seeing beauty
Where are all the pretty places
Oh, where did they go?
Torn down by all the lonely faces
For something to hold
Flattened static, paved in progress's name
But what will all our little children say?
When the only place to play
Is in the dirty rain
“Dirty Rain” - Andrew Combs
In the midst of the troubling times of 2020 it is so crucial to come back to gratitude, appreciation, and recognition of beauty. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder … therefore, there should be no reason that everyone can’t find beauty in at least one thing per day no matter where you find yourself - because we don’t all need to see the same exact thing to visualize beauty. Ask yourself what can you find beauty in at least once per day? Something I always come into gratitude for and find beauty in is nature - the sun heating up my skin, the grass giving me something to grab onto as I try to balance on my hands, the leaves for showing me the most breathtaking view of the world through colors, and the sky for reminding me how lucky I am to be in this body, with these eyes, with the opportunity to spend another day living life on this big, beautiful rock with so many different senses to use.
Ok… I’ve asked around and had many discussions with people about this, so I know I’m not the only one who feels this way … this year has been EXTRA beautiful when it comes to the beauty of nature surrounding us. Tell me I’m wrong!!! The fall foliage in northeast Ohio has stuck around for weeks longer than it typically does, and the colors were so vibrant that it was hard to even try going back to a time that my whole body wasn’t ignited with gratitude for the ability to witness the change of seasons in such a powerful and beautiful way. I believe that this is because our earth is shifting into a new dimensional reality of abundance, beauty, clarity, and understanding. And humanity as a whole cannot shift into higher states of being if the earth isn’t leading us there! Or vice versa … I’m not really sure on that one. Maybe it is us that are gaining higher states of consciousness rapidly and with that you notice more beauty on the earth and your whole view gets better… So is it the view / image / visual of earth that gets better, or is it actually earth healing and getting better because of the higher vibrational energy we’re all giving off? Lol. Regardless if it’s in my imagination or it’s truly happening, I’d definitely rather see the earth and life through the eyes of abundance, beauty, unity, freedom, and love any day!
One thing I do know is that I’ve always hated living in Ohio. I didn’t feel like I belonged here and I longed for the west coast energy, feeling like Ohio was a ball and chain attached to my legs and California was being dangled in front of my face by the universe. So I made up my mind and decided I wasn’t going to let the invisible shackles hold me back, “I’m moving to California! I don’t care that I don’t have a job and it’s the middle of a worldwide shut down and I only have $3,000 to my name! Don’t careeeeeee, see ya NEO!” Then I got a big ol gulp of reality when I had to send the apartment I decided on a copy of my taxes last year which… did not make the cut for California’s minimum requirement for the apartment to know you’ll make rent. Then I cried. Then I sulked. Thennnnn I started meditating, manifesting, and shining light on my inner shadows of restlessness, irrationality, boredom, and fear of being stagnant. Through this I realized that a place, or external factors, cannot make you your highest self or get you there any quicker. You can only connect with your higher self when you are able to find beauty in every situation you’re presented with. And then through this mindset shift I was able to fall back in love with myself and my surroundings, which made my environment stay showered with light no matter where there was darkness or if it was the same Ohio I once pictured as a rusty ol ball and chain. This made it impossible for me not to see light everywhere I go and in everything I do because I am the light. This is 5th dimensional thinking and wowwww it feels good!
Another thing thats been easy for me to find beauty in is my mindset and connection to the divine. There have been many times now that the universe blows my mind, but the most beautiful days are the days that I can’t even explain the energy I feel when the universe is communicating with me so many times throughout the day it doesn’t even make sense. You can feel and see this in numbers (11:11, 2:22, 4:44, etc), people you bump into, music you randomly hear, license plates you might see, and basically anything that you might see, hear, or feel that sparks the response of chills or the feeling of a “weird coincidence”. You will learn that there are no coincidences when you open your third eye to the spiritual realm. Everything is a communication or a nudge or a wink from the universe.
For example, every time I see the series of 1234 (like 12:34, or just 1234) I take that as a sign from the universe that I’m on the right path. And typically, I relate it to whatever it is I’m doing or intending to do in that moment. And this can be different for everyone. But what’s so beautiful about it is the overwhelming feeling of joy, recognition, appreciation, and connection you feel to a higher version of reality when you see something like that and are able to make sense of it. If I can have one of those moments a day for the rest of my life, even just that would be enough because of how powerful it feels in that moment. Every time you connect with your higher self your energetic vibration magnifies.
This also holds true, and possibly even holds more weight of truth to it, in the moments that your emotions are presenting as less than your highest self. For example…
When someone challenges your perspective and you feel an internal emotional defense coming in for the assist, honor and recognize that feeling, connect with your higher self, and then continue accordingly. This recognition helps immensely at calming down your ego and responding with love, compassion and clarity rather than not recognizing he challenge and quickly resorting to defending yourself which may come off as condescending, insensitive, rude, or presenting as a mentality of division.
Or when you’re driving and it seems as if everyone on the road has it out for you, specifically. Like, “don’t they know you’re running late?! UGH!” If we are not connected with our highest self and remain unaware of the divine order, then we may feel angry, aggressive, frantic, and annoyed. But if you recognize this as an opportunity to sit with the emotions being presented then you can find beauty and gratitude that you have the ability to see through the eyes of the universe.
The moments that are challenging you are giving you the opportunity to level up. Its like a video game … when you run into the next challenge, you’re not going to just cancel out of it and go walk around in the video game doing nothing. So if we run away from all of our challenges then we will never have the opportunity to grow and transform into a better / higher version of ourselves. That’s how some people find themselves stuck, miserable, and hopeless. But if they could alchemize the challenging situation they’re facing and try to come out stronger then they would finally start realizing that they’re not stuck after all.
This is connecting with your higher self and seeing the beauty in every situation through the eyes of your 5th dimensional self. This is simply, gnosis. :)
